<P><STRONG>位於印度北部的「北方邦」(Uttar Pradesh)，14日正當民眾在恆河舉行慶典儀式時，河中發生一起船難，目前已知至少造成20人死亡。</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>當地行政長官潘迪安(Senthil Pandyan)說，船難發生時，船上載有60人，事故發生的原因是船隻突然遇到急流導致船身控制不穩而翻船。</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>潘迪安說，「截至目前為止，救難人員已找到10具屍體，但仍有10人下落不明，可能已經罹難。」</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>船難在印度是司空見慣的事情，大部份都是因為超載、船隻駕駛不良、缺乏救生及其他安全設備而導致災難的發生。</STRONG></P>
