<P><STRONG>（中央社記者黃貞貞倫敦25日專電）由於經費減縮，英國廣播公司（BBC）世界新聞網（World Service）將關閉5種語言服務，約有650名員工因此失業。</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>BBC自1932年起推出世界新聞網，以包括中文等多種語言提供新聞服務，但受到政府財政惡化影響，近年來世界新聞網的經費也開始減縮，目前每年花費2億7<SPAN class=t_tag href="tag.php?name=200">200</SPAN>萬英鎊，約有2<SPAN class=t_tag href="tag.php?name=400">400</SPAN>名員工，透過廣播、電視及網路，約有2億4<SPAN class=t_tag href="tag.php?name=100">100</SPAN>萬名聽眾與觀眾。</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>最新一波是關閉馬其頓語、阿爾巴尼亞語、塞爾維亞語、對加勒比海的英語，及對非洲的葡萄牙語服務，預估1年可省下4600萬英鎊。</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>BBC世界新聞網的經費過去由英國外交部提供，但去年10月政府宣布不再支付，由BBC自行負責。</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>BBC的經費主要來自每年向收視民眾收取的電視執照費，去年政府宣布，未來6年將凍結執照費用，不得調升。</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>BBC預定26日公布詳細的裁員計劃，英國記者工會（The National Union of Journalists）將在世界新聞網總部辦公大樓外進行抗議活動。</STRONG></P>
