<P><STRONG>印度警方表示，一列擁擠的火車行經北部一座橋樑下方時，由於橋面過低，導致坐在車頂上的年輕人有14人死亡、13人受傷。</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>警方表示，這起意外發生在北部「烏塔爾省」首府「洛克瑙」西南方180公里。火車上載的大多是打算應徵軍方工作機會的年輕人。</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>當局表示，軍方原本要招募461名邊界警察部隊，沒想到前來應徵者近20萬人，當局決定延後召募，部分年輕人因此憤而縱火焚燒巴士、加油站，並舉行街頭示威。</STRONG></P>

<P><STRONG>示威活動結束後，大批年輕人搭火車回鄉，但車廂裡坐滿了人，因此年輕人不理會安全規定，爬上車頂，沒想到發生意外，摔落地面造成20多人傷亡。</STRONG></P>
