<P><STRONG><FONT size=4>血卟啉病又稱血紫質病，是由卟啉產生和排泄 異常所引起的代謝性疾病，多有遺傳因素。</FONT></STRONG></P>

<P><STRONG><FONT size=4>先天性紅血球紫質缺乏症（Congenital Erythropoietic Porphyria），因缺乏合成血紅素之酵素，造成前驅物之一「紫質（porphyrin）」的累積。</FONT></STRONG></P>

<P><STRONG><FONT size=4>紫質會累積在血液及尿中，尿液會呈紅色，且因為紫質具強力的吸光性，病人皮膚會對光敏感，牙齒會出 現螢光，亦會造成貧血。根據卟啉代謝紊亂的部位，分為紅細胞生成性血卟啉病、肝性血卟啉病。</FONT></STRONG></P>

<P><STRONG><FONT size=4>本病多見於嬰兒，成人也可發病，稱為遲發性皮膚血卟啉病。</FONT></STRONG></P>

<P><STRONG><FONT size=4>此病患者怕光（光照後會引起皮膚潰爛、結 痂、大面積黑色素沉著。），對大蒜過敏（大蒜的刺激性氣味能引起病發。），眼珠呈紅色，補充血紅蛋白有利於緩解病情。</FONT></STRONG></P>

<P><STRONG><FONT size=4>少數偏激患者認為飲用鮮血可以補充血 紅蛋白，從而引發了吸血鬼傳說。</FONT></STRONG></P>
